Setting Up Federal and State Tax Tables 

 

Before you can setup the Federal and State Tax Tables, you need to contact the IRS and the State Controller for your state tax tables if you don't already have them. 

 

Before you can run your first payroll, you must setup the Federal and State tax tables percentages that are used to calculate the amount of State and Federal taxes owed by both the employee and employer.  

 

To setup the tax tables: 

  

Select Setup from the Payroll menu. A pull down menu is displayed listing the following tax tables: 

 

  Single                Setup the Federal tax table for Single  

Federal Table         employees. 

 

Married                Setup the Federal tax table for  

Federal Table         Married/Head of Household employees. 

 

State Table 1        Setup State tax table 1. 

Single 

State Table 2        Setup State tax table 2. 

Married 

State Table 3        Setup State tax table 3. 

Head of Household 

State Table 4        Setup State tax table 4. 

 

State Table 5        Setup State tax table 5. 

 

State Table 6        Setup State tax table 6. 

 

State Table 7        Setup State tax table 7. 

 

State Table 8         Setup State tax table 8. 

 

State Table 9        Setup State tax table 9. 

 

Miscellaneous        Setup the tax rates for FICA, Medicare,  

 

Tax Setup                FUTA, SDI, SETF, and SUI along with their respective ceiling. This is also where you setup the Federal and State exemption amounts.
