Replace Command

The Replace command replaces the current information in the specified field with the new information that you enter. This is used in conjunction with the Select command .

Only the clients that have been selected will have the information replaced. There will be no effect on other clients that have not been selected. The different options for the Replace command are:

City                         Replace all selected clients with a new City.

State                         Replace all selected clients with a new State.

Zip Code                 Replace all selected clients with a new Zip Code.

Birth Date                Replace all selected clients with a new Birth Date.

Walk-in Date                Replace all selected clients with a new Walk-in Date.

Request Date        Replace all selected clients with a new Request Date.

Employee                Replace all selected clients with a new Employee.

Code 1                Replace all selected clients with a new Code 1.

Code 2                Replace all selected clients with a new Code 2.

Last Visit Date        Replace all selected clients with a new Last Visit    Date.

Photo                        Replace all selected client photos with the selected

After selecting one of the above options for the Replace command , you are asked to enter the replacement value . Unique will then replace the field with the new information for all the selected clients.

This feature is mainly used to help speed up data entry, usually a time consuming and boring job. Suppose you have just entered 30 new clients but you didn't put in their city or state. You could manually enter the city and state information for each client (that's 30 different data entries) or you could select those 30 clients and tell Unique to replace the City and State fields with the new entries.   Instead of entering the same city and state names 30 times, you entered them once and let Unique do all the work.
