Petty Cash Transactions
To help you keep track of petty cash expenditures, Unique has a built-in petty cash tracking system that is used in conjunction with the general Ledger system to keep an account of your expenses.
To enter a petty cash transaction: Select Petty Cash from the Sales Register menu .
First enter the employee code of the person making the petty cash transaction.
Then enter the vendor where the purchase will be made (or the reason for the purchase), the amount of cash being taken from the drawer, and the ledger account code that most accurately describes the purchase.
Unique opens the cash drawer, makes a record of the transaction for the Daily Sales Report , and makes an entry in your "Line Entry" for the General Ledger as a debit.
Note: Petty cash entries are not entered into the checking account. This means that petty cash transactions will not affect your checking account balance, because the money is taken from your daily cash total balance, where the cash system is balance at the end-of-day report.
A list of petty cash transactions can be printed, edited, or deleted in the General Ledger "Line Entry" Section.
