Passwords and Security Levels

Unique comes with five different security levels.

You can assign a different security level to each section of the program.

Each security level can have its own password.

To change the security levels and the passwords:

Select Maintenance & Setup from the Main Menu .

Press S to select the Security Level Setup screen.

  Security Level Setup Screen

This is the default security level setup for the different sections. Level 0 requires no password. This means Unique doesn't ask the user for a password before entering a section that requires a level 0 password.

Level 5 is the highest security level. Someone who knows a level 5 password has access not only to the level 5 sections, but can also use the level 5 password to enter the level 4,3,2 and level 1 sections. This password is usually reserved for the owner of the business.

Level 4 is usually assigned to the manager of the salon. This would be someone who would handle all the accounting for the system.

Someone with a Level 2 or 3 password can enter the level 2 and level 1 sections of Unique.

Level 1 is for a trusted employee. These people enter client and inventory information, can close out the Sales Register, and run the end of day sales reports.

Appointment Book Passwords

The appointment book has a different type of password.  It also resides on the fact that level 5 is the highest level. The appointment password is only intended to control

who makes, edit, or deletes an appointment. If you did setup the appointment passwords in the appointment book under administrative you can see a list of the passwords here.

note For the appointment passwords to work, all employees on the appointment book must have an assigned password.
