Cash Drawer & Receipt Printing

 

 

Plug  the USB connector from the receipt printer into any  USB port into your computer. Also  plug the phone wire connector to the Cash Drawer.

Note; If the Cash Drawer has a permanently  installed cable, then plug it into the phone jack connector into the back of the receipt printer.

 

The Automatic Method

 

The next step is to install the  windows printer drivers for the receipt printer.

 

The proper drivers to setup your cash drawer and receipt printer will be installed automatically when you install your new Unique Software.

 

Indicating That You Have A Receipt and Cash Drawer attached.

 

The next step is to tell Unique that the printer is actually attached. Go into the Sales Register menu of the unique software

and select Misc/Register Setup/General Setup .  

 

You will see an option in red for the question if both the receipt Printer and the cash drawer is attached.  Check the both options which will indicate

that the printer and cash drawer is attached. The default printer port will be already selected for you.

 

If need be you can select the re-Install Printer port or the "Install Printer Driver" button to perform the task again.

 

The next step is insert your printer message at the bottom of the printed receipt.  Insert any text here.

 

e.g     Thanks  for Your Business

             Please Come Again!!!

 

You should now be able to perform a complete sale or open the cash drawer, provided that you have added an employee to

the Employee menu. 

 

 

The Last step is to go to the Misc/Register Setup/Cash Drawer Setup option and test the cash drawer .  

 

 

These are already setup for you.

The Baud Rate for a Receipt and cash Drawer combination is: 9600

The Baud Rate settings for a cash Drawer only unit is -> 300

 

Code 1    000 

Code 2    000 

Code 3    000 

Code 4    007 

Code 5    026 

 

Select OK and then "Yes" to test the cash Drawer. If the Cash Drawer pop open then the receipt printer will print.

If the cash drawer did not open start from the top of this section  and make sure that everything is plugged in and

go through the rest of the procedures again. If It still does not work its possible you will have to reinstall the drivers again

using a different port. If all fails, then call  the Unique Salon Software tech support line. 1-888-745-7554

These codes entered are the ASCII numeric codes required by the cash drawer. Again Do not change them. 

 

You can verify that the codes are send by selecting Ok. You are then asked if you want to test the cash drawer to see if the codes work.  

 

If you answer YES, the codes you have entered are sent out the port that was specified for the cash drawer. If the codes and port

have been entered correctly, and the cash drawer is properly attached with the printer powered ON the cash drawer will open.
