How to Password Protect Cash Drawer

To password protect your cash drawer:

First you need to set up the security level and password under Sale, No Sale, Petty Cash, and Gift in the program. You have the option to set the security level from 1-5.

Depending on who you want to have authorization to open your drawer will determine the level security you put on these fields.

For example, if you have authorized the receptionist to open the cash drawer, then a level 1 security level would be all that is needed.

To set up the security level and password:

Select Maintenance & Setup from the Main Menu . You will be asked for a password. Someone with authorization to go into this field (usually the manager).

From the Maintenance & Setup select "Security ". Then select Level Setup . The screen will be separated into 3 categories.

You can move to the section(s) you wish to changes. Enter level 1-5 for Sale, No Sale, Petty Cash and Gift.

Then depending on the security level you set up will determine what level password you set up.

For example, if you setup security level 1 for sale, no sale, petty cash, and gift. Then you need to select level 1 password under "Security". You will be asked to enter a password. Your password can be alpha, numeric or a combination of both up to 8 characters.

This procedure can be used for setting up all passwords fields in the Unique program.
